Branch Manager

Baltimore, MD (CARGO)

Job Description:  The Branch Manager is responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations including production, scheduling and logistics.   Responsibilities also include manpower management and capital improvements.  In addition, the Branch Manager will be responsible for annual budget planning and execution. They will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation. This person must be trained and have at least 7 years of experience including best practices in both managerial and production and DDMS platforms.

Skills: 

  • 7+ year’s progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.
  • Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.
  • 7+ years’ experience preferred conducting best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
  • Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations.
  • Strong Background in customer relations
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability; with the ability to adapt.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.

Responsibilities Included (but not limited to):

  • Develop short and long term strategies that support the overall DTE business objectives and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.
  • Work closely with the team to review product consistency while monitoring gross margin performance to determine trends and areas of improvement.
  • Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
  • Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees.
  • Maintain inventory levels and control flow of product from our suppliers.
  • Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets.
  • Analyze workforce requirements and establish appropriate staffing levels to customer demand.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to manufacturing team
  • Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
  • Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity and product velocity
  • Work closely and communicate with sales department for scheduling, lead times, build issues and constraints
  • Communicate with engineering as well as product management team to execute new product strategies.

Education & Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance/Management/Operations or other related field and/or 7+ years leadership experience in an up fitting facility
  • Preferred qualifications: Master’s Degree, Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

CDL A Driver

Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Logistics Manager, the CDL A Delivery Driver will be responsible for the delivery and pick up of commercial vehicles and/or automotive parts from various end users and locations.   • License: Clean, valid CDL A Driver’s License

  • Experience: Three to five years related tractor trailer delivery experience
