There is no higher priority than the health and well-being of our employees. Effective today, with the growing concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are taking additional safety measures to protect our employees, their families and their communities. As a result, we have made the decision to close all Dejana facilities effective today, Tuesday, March 17^th, with the hopes of reopening with full operations on Monday, March 30^th.

Our outside sales representatives and their internal support teams will be unaffected and operating “business as usual” during this time.

Effective immediately, we are deploying a “work from home” strategy for our employees who have customer facing, or functional responsibilities. Over the next several days departments such as inside sales, estimating, bailment and order processing, will have access to our network and fully functional while working from home. (November 1, 2017 — Kings Park, NY) — Dejana Truck and Utility Equipment, a subsidiary of Douglas Dynamics, Inc. (NYSE: PLOW), announced today the opening of a new 90,000 square foot ship-thru facility in Kansas City, MO. The new facility will be located entirely underground in the Hunt Midwest Automotive Alley Subtropolis. The facility has been granted ship-thru code 31G (assembly plant D9K) for the Ford Transit and the F-150 and will primarily install commercial van interiors as well as F150 upfits and accessories.

The new Dejana location is in close proximity to Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant (KCAP) which will enable the company to quickly move vehicles to the upfitting operation and then out for distribution to dealerships nationwide. The facility has the ability to accommodate over 300 vehicles through storage, staging and production, entirely indoors, out of the elements, in a climate-controlled environment.

The Kansas City operation is Dejana’s tenth manufacturing facility and their second ship-thru location. The facility has two primary assembly lines with adjacent production areas for pre-assembly, electrical, decaling and quality control. It also has 1,500 square feet of office space for Dejana’s engineering, production and general administrative staff. The entire production process is being developed using the proprietary Douglas Dynamics Manufacturing System (DDMS) for maximum throughput and efficiency. “The facility is setup so that we can flex capacity up and down as business conditions require.  But more importantly, easily add capacity to our footprint as we grow this part of our business,” said Patrick Dietz, General Manager, Van Interiors.

The facility is fully operational and production ready. Job #1 is expected through the facility in the fourth quarter of 2017 and Dejana’s fleet management team is accepting orders from Ford Dealerships, fleet accounts and leasing companies nationwide.

(May 1, 2017 — Kings Park, NY) — Dejana Truck and Utility Equipment (Dejana), a premier upfitter and manufacturer of vehicle attachments and equipment and a subsidiary of Douglas Dynamics, Inc. (NYSE: PLOW), today announced it has acquired Arrowhead Equipment, Inc. The deal is a natural extension of Dejana’s ongoing growth strategy that it has been successfully executing for several years. The deal adds two manufacturing facilities that will improve service to Dejana’s customer base in the region.

Arrowhead Equipment has grown organically to become a leading up fitter in the upstate New York market, with two upfit facilities located in Albany and Queensbury that have a combined 31,000 square feet of space. Arrowhead Equipment is a well-run family-owned business that currently employs approximately 50 people. Acquiring Arrowhead Equipment allows Dejana to further leverage its relationship with truck and van OEMs and augment its position as a leading bailment pool upfitter. Arrowhead Equipment’s customer portfolio includes a diverse base of commercial truck users, ranging from commercial snow contractors, municipalities, and emergency response entities. The two additional locations will be Dejana’s eighth and ninth manufacturing locations, each with truck equipment showrooms for retail sales.

• Dejana Acquires Arrowhead Equip.

(Kings Park, NY, June 26, 2014) – Executives at Chrysler Group LLC announced today that they have selected Dejana Truck Equipment as a “ship-thru” provider for their new RAM Promaster City. The announcement came as they unveiled RAM’s new entry into the small van segment, and provided details of their collaboration with Fiat to bring the vehicles in through the Port of Baltimore. As an authorized ship-thru Dejana would then be able to receive the units, install interior van packages to order, and distribute completed vehicles to Chrysler Dealers in the U.S.

The two-seat cargo version of the Ram Promaster City will be assembled at the modern TOFAS Plant in Bursa, Turkey by the end of 2014. Dealers will then be able to order from a variety of interior packages that Dejana will install at their facility that is close to the Port of Baltimore. Dejana will also help maintain an inventory of commercial units that can be upfitted and distributed to dealerships and fleet customers in the US. Dealerships are expected to take delivery of the units in early 2015.

(Kings Park, NY, April 22, 2014) – Marines from the Headquarters & Service Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment operating out of Garden City, New York, came with a convoy of vehicles to Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment Headquarters today to honor and pay tribute to founder and President, Peter Dejana. Gunnery Sgt. Jaime Alvarez and 8 Marines in flak and Kevlar presented Dejana with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his success as a former Marine turned entrepreneur, as well as Dejana’s recent efforts to recruit veterans returning from active duty service. “You can’t imagine the disappointment after spending years serving our country, a serviceman comes home and can’t find a job,” says Peter Dejana. “It’s very deflating and he is only left to think that no-one respects what he did for the country.”

Dejana Family with USMCMany of the principles that Dejana learned in the Marine Corps, he translated into building a successful business. “Naturally, strong discipline comes to mind,” says Dejana,” but the Marine Corps also taught me that a team of men work better than a man of one.” Dejana also says that the Marine Corps taught him the importance of focusing on detail, completing tasks and that nothing is beneath anyone. After a considerable pause, he adds “Tell me where you would find a better employee?”

Peter Dejana started Dejana Truck and Utility Equipment in 1957 shortly after returning from Korea as a Marine Corps Sergeant. He started the business as a three-bay service station in Huntington that soon began to maintain and service trucks for New York Telephone Co. • Marines Honor Peter Dejana for Service, Commitment and Employment

Smithfield, RI, October 10, 2012 – Representatives from local municipal agencies, fleet and utility companies, along with members of the Smithfield Town Council, all joined together today for the Grand Opening of the new home of Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment of New England. The new 45,000-square-foot facility will allow Dejana to expand its truck upfitting capabilities, improve its production efficiencies and consolidate their manufacturing operations with their retail parts, sales, and service.

Dejana Truck New England Facility Grand OpeningThe new location in the Smithfield Business Park is on 19 acres and can provide a full range of services with a 4,000-square-foot truck equipment showroom, 26 manufacturing bays, and 3 state-of-the-art paint spray booths. The layout of the facility has also been streamlined to improve production flow and maximize efficiency. Truck bodies like dumps, landscapers, and utilities, essentially come in one end and drive out the other as a completed commercial vehicles. There are also entire sections dedicated to the installation and repair of snow plow equipment, commercial van interiors, and large fleet and municipal projects.

As their customer base began to grow, manufacturing and storage capacity restricted production. Recently, Dejana leased a second location nearby on George Washington Highway. The second facility provided more manufacturing and storage capacity and allowed them to open a truck equipment showroom. The new location has ample storage capacity and allows Dejana to consolidate the operations of both facilities into one.
