Dejana Selected as East Coast Regional Ship Through for Ford Transit Connect!
Coming Summer 2009!
Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment, Ford’s largest bailment pool in the United States, has been selected as the East Coast Regional Ship Through for their new Transit Connect which will be available in the spring of 2009. Dejana, together with Commercial Van Interiors, San Diego, California, will provide a variety of upfit options and interior accessory packages for the Transit, and help maintain an inventory of commercial units to dealerships throughout the United States.
A series of flexible base level upfit packages will be available that can easily be combined with a variety of trade-specific upgrades to satisfy a broad range of requirements. In addition, customers and dealerships will also have the option of completely customizing their van interiors using packages from the industry’s leading suppliers such as Adrian Steel, Weatherguard and Masterack.
The Transit Connect is Ford’s first dedicated small commercial van and has been extremely successful in the European market having won numerous awards such as “International Van of the Year 2003”, “Fleet Van of the Year 2007,” ACFO (5 years running), and “Most Reliable Van 2007,” -Fleet News. The units are ideally suited for parcel delivery, service and trade applications and inner city commercial use. The Transit comes with a 2.0L Duaratec Engine with 136 horsepower and 136 ft.-lbs. of torque that offers an estimated 19 mpg city and 24 mpg hwy. The interior offers impressive cargo height with 6’ 2” of floor space and 1,600 lb. payload capacity.
